Accepted to Indiana University

Hey so a lot of people are saying they've gotten accepted from IU, does anyone know how I could find out or if they send you an email or something.

Also on my "to do list" on OneStart, it used to say the school hadn't received my transcript and schedule but now it has changed to they haven't received my SSA application and recommendations and stuff. Has that happened to anyone else and what is it?

You’re in! Happened to my D. You’ll get an email really soon.

Yay yupp got the acceptance letter yesterday! Thanks  and congratz to u too

My daughter just applied last week. How long did it take from when you first submitted your application until when you heard?

The money is not coming in like they told us last spring break on our tour. My dd met the requirements for, I think, $9,000/yr. The amt they are offering us in $5,000. When I called to ask about it, they said it has changed this year so more people can get some money. We were very saddened by this. I think Indiana is going to be out of our price range. I sure wish they had conveyed that on our tour date last spring. My dd worked her rear off to reach that level and we had said if she meets this requirement, we could maybe swing it. Oh, well. Lots of schools out there! I hope those waiting receive what they need to attend!

jmmmom: are you in state or out of state? I think last year it was guaranteed $6000 for in state and $11,000 for out of state. This year they are giving ranges. Did your daughter get email about SSA scholarships? This might be able to make up the difference that you need. I was fortunate to receive the max for out of state but I still need to receive other scholarships from either honors college or my department.

We are out of state. Oh, gosh, it must have been the 11,ooo then! I couldn’t remember, but knew it was at least 9,000. Ha, that bums me out even more! No, she didn’t get any other emails about further money. Her major is such that it just doesn’t make sense to pay that much for the education. If we had in-state tuition, fine, but the out of state is a little out of reach. Great school, though!

I think there were three tiers last year for out of state students. The tiers were based on GPA and test scores…not sure how much the other tiers got…just know my brother got $11,000 based on gpa/test scores

What gpa s needed and scores for $$?

It is different this year…not set GPA or scores

JMM - Really disappointed to hear they are lowering amounts for OOS kids.
Do you mind listing your kids stats? We were kind of counting on the 11K to make it close to affordable.

1214…they did not lower the OOS amount. It is just not guaranteed, they are awarding ranges from $1,000-$11,000. If your child has good stats they still can get the $11,000

She has a 4.05 and had a 30 on her act.

Last year the ACT cut-off for the $11,000 was 32

Thanks for the info. Unless we get the 11K it’s probably off the table for us.
