Accepted to San Jose State University, but...

Okay, as the title suggests, I have been accepted to SJSU, but the thing is I applied as Undeclared/Undecided for my major. The issue is, how much of a factor will that play in when I actually do decide my major, which is Computer Engineering? I knew I wanted to to do CE before I applied, but I was worried I wouldn't get in if I did put CE, cause I figured there's a lot of competition for the major at this particular university, so I played it safe and put undecided. Now, when I do declare my major, is there a possibility I won't get CE, despite being accepted into the school? If I don't get CE, then I am not sure what I would major in, as I set my goals on CE. Possibly Computer Science, but I really want CE.

bump.

My S got in Undeclared although he applied as a CS Major. He wasn’t willing to take a chance at trying to change his major once he started. What are your other options? He chose to go to a school that admitted him into his major. Have you tried contacting admissions about the difficulty of changing your major?

You may want to ask the departments how competitive the admission process is for each major.
