Accepted to UCSD for Chem.. but want Chem Eng.

I was accepted to UCSD for Chemistry. I love chemistry; but after researching about Chemical Engineering, I feel it suits me more. Now I know engineering is difficult, but I have pretty decent stats and am hoping to at least get the chance to apply for Chemical Engineering.

Do I request the switch before the Fall Quarter or at the start of the Fall Quarter? I'm not sure how the process works. Thanks.

Incoming freshman.

Actually, I found this:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/1125240-switching-major-engineering.html

Does this still apply to UCSD? Or is it only Berkeley that has chemical engineering in the school of chemistry, instead of school of engineering.

Chemical Engineering is not currently on UCSD’s list of impacted majors:
[Impacted Majors](Capped Majors)

However, that is in reference to freshman or transfer admissions, so it may not necessarily apply to current students changing major. Contact the Department of Nanoengineering (under which the Chemical Engineering major is) with your question.
