Accepted; What about senior grades??

So, the question is: How bad do your senior grades have to be, for them to rescind your acceptance?? I started slacking off this year, and I'm not sure where my grades are at this pont!! I'm really nervous!!

You can’t have any D’s or F’s and you must maintain a 3.0 UNWEIGHTED GPA.

Straight B’s, my friend :)

Yeah you can get up to like 3 Cs and even at that point you’re on a provisional contract, so you wouldnt be totally rescinded.

3.0 unweighted

yeah really make sure you maintain a 3.0. Last year I got 2 As, 2 Bs & 2 Cs 1st semester senior year and 1 A and 6 Cs 2nd semester, I think that was a 2.8 overall… and I got rescinded. you don’t even have to fail anything.

BUTTTT… i have a friend whose GPA was identical to mine and actually got one D, and they’re at UCLA right now. I’m not sure how that worked out.

You must maintain at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA in your a-g courses and not receive any D or F grades. If your GPA falls below 3.0 or you receive D or F grades, you must report the GPA/grade to UCLA. The campus will consider the grade in context of your overall achievement and decide whether to extend or rescind the acceptance.

Okay, so 3.0 unweighted? or weighted?

The word unweighted has been posted 3 times, not including your post.

Oh man, I’m really worried. I’m taking 5 AP classes and 1 normal class this senior year, and I’ve got a B/C mix right now because my classes are not that easy and I’ve gotten screwed over in a few classes. =/

UCs never look at uw…

False.

UCLA requires a minimum 3.0 Unweighted. Let’s use the word Unweighted again.

Unweighted.

it all depends on your school. mine apparently doesn’t have unweighted GPA

All schools have unweighted GPA.

No, my school really doesn’t have an unweighted GPA, my transcript only has weighted

Calculate it yourself then. Don’t give the extra points for Honors/AP classes. All A’s would be 4.0, all B’s 3.0, blah blah

But the UCs won’t see it, so it doesn’t matter right?

Of course they see it …

The UC schools will take your official final transcript during the summer, which lists all the courses you’ve taken in HS and the grade you earned in each of them, and evaluate it. They will make sure that you’ve actually passed all the courses required to be UC-eligible. They will check your senior GPA to make sure you get a 3.0 unweighted with no grade below a C. They will check to make sure you completed all the classes you listed you were taking (or planning to take) when you applied. Slip up and its possible your admission will be revoked.

If you are dropping a class (or already have bad grades on your 1st semester transcript) there is a form on the UCLA admission website you can fill out to notify them of the issue. Don’t think with so many transcripts to check they will miss it! You’re always better off coming clean when there might still be time to work out a solution such as a summer class then wait until they go thru the transcripts in July or August when it may be too late to fix things.

sorry! i totally meant to say they dont look at weighted. -__-
