Accepted with undeclared major

Just got notice that I was accepted into Muir with an "undeclared" major.

I applied for Bioengineering. I know that you are accepted by the university first, then the Jacobs School of Engineering.

Did anyone already get accepted into bioe on tritonlink or is it a waiting game at this point?

Rough stats:

ELC
uw GPA 4.0/ wGPA 4.51
Rank: #1 in class
ACT: 30
SAT II: Math 650 Chem 650
AP: Statistics 3 Calc 3 Chem 2
Senior courses: AP Brit Lit, AP Bio, Honors Am Govt, Art II, Yearbook
Race: Latino
not low income and not first generation

I also did not receive a call.

I have been accepted at UCI in Biomedical Engineering. I would prefer UCSD.

I have the same exact story as you, and roughly the same stats, I could have written this question. Actually, I did write one like it, no one’s answered it either. xD
So I’ll wait on the answer with you.
Only difference was that I was accepted to Revelle.

Well, that makes me feel a bit better. I’m guessing they are still reviewing applications?

Have you been getting the emails from Jacobs?

Same thing happened to me. I applied for bioengineering, and got accepted to Warren under an undeclared major. Something’s not right.

I got in - Bioengineering:Biotech at Marshall

you may have to wait, or you may have to prove yourself and apply to bioe after a semsester. not sure. undeclared means that you are open to everything tho, so i wouldnt worry too much about it. have a great first year and then switch in.

Does undeclared really mean you’re open to anything? That would be a great relief. I’m going to go in to UCSD and visit the admissions department (or engineering department) next week. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Good luck on your visit and hope you get the answers you need. Don’t forget to let us know what you find out! ;-)

I’m wondering if it’s better to stay as undeclared or to declare another related major (that’s open). Does it really matter? Doesn’t sound like it from what I’m seeing here on the boards.

Undeclared probably doesn’t necessarily mean too much at this point unless you are applying to an impacted major like the OP is (I think bio engr is impacted). If you’re not in an impacted major I kind of think that the way you can switch around a lot easier than with impacted majors is similar to being undeclared.
