Accepted

i got into furman today!! anyone else....??

Yup...I was accepted to Furman too!

I'm still waiting to hear about my financial aid package though.

Congratulations to both of you!! Furman has been a wonderful place for my D this past year, and we're all glad she went there! If you finally decide on Furman, the summer outdoor experience (the one to the mountains for rafting) was fun and one way to meet other incoming freshmen.

iflyjets, what jet do you fly?

Former Air Force pilot.

I'm retire AF pilot as well. PM me when you get a chance. My son is interested in Furman. We are going there 4/23 for their "Spring for Furman" open house.

I got accepted, too.

Yes, I was accepted, and will be a Freshman at FU next fall. I can't wait!

Congratulations, Dukeman. Anti and Thitical, have either of you two decided?

I got the Duke scholarship at FU and will be enrolling in the fall.

Outstanding, Anti:)

All of you will have a great time at Furman. Make sure you get involved with some of the activities there. Club and intramtural sports are great. Mock trial is available. There are chorales and choir groups, and even theater opportunities. And FUSAB and student government are also very active.

Also, you might consider the summer experience. My D went on the rafting trip (not the sea kayaking one) and really had a good time.

Again, good luck to you all.

Dukeman, You might want to consider changing your posting name. :)

Sorry, I intended to post my last post on the "Herman Lay" thread.

On another note, has anyone received housing/medical forms?

You will recieve housing materials later in the summer when you submit your request for housing. As a side note, when you fill out the housing survey realize you will probably go to bed later than expected, be honest, and write down any concerns you have in the "Extra info" box. Such as I dont want to bunk my bed, etc. I recommend hall style living because it helps you to get to know the people on your hall better. I also recommend Lakeside Housing. It's where I am at this year and love. Its closer to most academic buildings, including McAlister Auditorium, so if you are a music major, that is a huge deal. It is also closer to the infirmary and DH, as well as North Village. If you are an athlete, I would recommend South Housing, as it is closer to the PAC and the Athletic Fields. Don't quote me on this, but I believe Chiles and Gambrell dorms are being refurbished this summer. Chiles, where I live now, is all female, and Gambrell will be all male. They are right next to each other will and share a stairwell, so its really easy to visit your friends! I know this info is really specific, but I just got so excited for you guys! I hope you will love furman! If you have any questions over the summer, IM me at cudiepie00.

flgirl04, yes I should change my name, lol. I grew up a Duke fan, but now am a Paladin all the way.

I got in as well and am strongly considering going there. The only reason I wouldn't is if I got accepted to Davidson. My lord, having visited the campus, it is honestly breath-taking, it is so beautiful it is almost shocking.

Congrats Breanna! Yes, it is a breath taking campus isn't it. We loved Davidson too, but our son wasn't as thrilled with it as we were. Good luck with both schools and let us know which one you finally decide to go with!

My D was also accepted at Davidson (a couple of years ago, now), but liked Furman better. For her, Furman has been a great decision. Good luck deciding.

My S was accepted - it's high on his list, but we're still waiting on hearing from the financial aid/scholarship people. Hope we hear good news soon!

I was accepted too - yea- but I echo Bethel's above
