im an intl, so the admission process might be a lil different. i got accepted EMAIL last sunday to IUB, but the email said nothing abt me getting into Kelley. the thing is , i put kelley school on my online app, and my scores is higher than the direct admit..1270..but when do i get to know whether my acceptance means Kelley or just IUB?

You should login to Indiana University Bloomington and then into Onestart, then click on "Student Center", then under the "academics" section, click on "My academics and grades"

Out to the right you should see whether it says your program is "Business Undergraduate" or whether it says "University Division--Pre-Business".

Below this it will tell you your major, for example "Finance". Just because it says Finance (or Legal Studies or Management), however doesn't mean you are a direct admit--it just means you are a business major. The "Program" is what determines whether you are already in the business school or not.

P.S. If you were only just admitted to IU-B, this could still change during the next few weeks--so you may not know for sure until about 3 more weeks have passed.

Good luck.

so if it says business undergraduate, then you're in to kelley?

and if it says University Division--Pre-Business, then you aren't in to Kelley?

somone please clarify this.

yes, im still confused. actually, i see NOTHING in "my academics and grades". how long does it take for my status in OneStart to get updated?

funemployee,

Yes--that's right. For example, here's what it says under "My Academics and Grades" for my son, who has been accepted to Kelley for a few years now:

My Program:
- Bloomington
Career - Undergraduate
Program - Business Undergraduate
Major - Legal Studies BSB

Winston, C.,

I wouldn't worry too much--your letter will come soon--and your status will get updated at that time.

Remember that the school is a bit busy with a lot of things at the current time:
The upcoming holiday shutdown, finals week (next week), assigning professors to their new classes which start in January, determining who is graduating after this semester and helping these people get jobs, performing counseling for students concerning next semester's classes, arranging housing for incoming Spring students, and, of course, handling the flood of incoming college applications such as yours.

In my view, IU-B and the Kelley school handle things on a pretty timely basis. My son applied as a transfer to USC's business program--and had to apply by the end of January in order to get notice of acceptance (or in his case, rejection) by mid-June to early July. Considering that the Kelley school handles the same stuff in less than one-third the time--despite having more applications than USC's Marshall school--I'd say they are doing okay.

So, while I know it is difficult to wait since you really want to know your status, try to be a bit patient and realize that you will probably get notified by January 20th or so at the very latest--which gives you plenty of time to accept or reject their offer (which you have until April 30th to do).

P.S. I'm guessing they are probably also handling a lot of requests for increased financial aid based upon the economy right now--which is probably also increasing their workload.
