ACCEPTED! I just got an e-mail. However, the financial aid information will be provided in 2 weeks. my decision will depend on this... Hoping for generous FA!!

congratulations. i am glad that they found a way to notify you quickly!

Thank you. Int'ls, how much FA did you get?

I am intl~~ i got only 4K for FA~~ but 23K for presidential scholarship~~
well~~ i think they are pretty generous.....

ummm... are they gona notify me by email? cuz i cant wait for my first acceptance ~~

<very excited!=""></very>

Grats on the great FA dingbei!

Hope I get accepted with a presidental! :P

Son received EA acceptance and a Marshall/Chavez/Means Scholarship about a week later! It is an awesome opportunity and the scholarship makes WPI an awesome first choice civilian school even without the NROTC scholarship option. Son will wait for Naval and Coast Guard Academy answers, but will definitely go to WPI if not accepted at the Academies. Wish us luck! WPI is an awesome school!

Son got acceptance in the mail today.
So we should not expect to hear about merit aid for a week or 2?
BTW for those of you with less than stellar writing scores, S had a 510W and a 650CR - offset by his 800M and high SAT subject test scores in physics and math2. It is doable to get in with not great writing, but we'll have to see if he receives any aid with these scores.
With the cost of WPI, merit aid is a necessary component. Fingers crossed WPI remains one of his options.

WPI doesn't even make you take an English class during your entire four years there, and seeing they don't even require SATs, I'm thinking the reading/writing scores are glanced at, but not a huge deal to them.

wpirpi - do you go to WPI to know for sure they do not require English? If they don't, my son will be EXTREMELY happy. I thought from our research they did require some humanities. They must allow you to fulfill them without English or writing then eh?

i just got the mail, and i got accepted =D
i really hope the FA is generous, because WPI is my safety(still,im very happy about the acceptance^^), and my mom wasn't at all impressed =S
good luck guys :)

edit:
does anyone know how much FA i will probably get with 2090 SAT,800M, and 0 EFC?

Thanks..
yay,im goin' to college!

On the English question, they told us that on the tour. You CAN take English if you want to fulfill the humanities requrement... but not required... it could be computer art, Spanish, glee club, German, or a bunch of others.

wow!
that's amazing~~~
i'm going to the winter preview program on feb.14 and i'm very excited about that~~

dingbei -- is that the program for accepted students? S is going, but it's Sunday, Feb. 15.

ohh.... you're right~ 15th
i'm leaving on 14th cuz i'm a long distance traveller~~:)
anyway~~ wpi even covers my travel expenses~~ they're so nice~:)

hey im in northern new york and havent heard from WPI yet about my ea acceptance!!

cool calc
the same thing happened here. called and found they did not have a rec though the app status site said everytihng was there- no decision yet :(

S got merit award today. Not enough probably to swing us. bummer

Friend's son received "yes", but no aid....

So WPI is "no."

Is it possible to negotiate the financial aid.
WPI is one of my top choice.
