<p>If you get a call, you arent a regent scholar. You’re just in. Unless they tell you that you got in as a regent or you see it say that you are in your acceptance letter.</p>

<p>I just got the phone call right now! It was the assistant dean of student affairs and she told me that a lot of faculty are getting together to call the top applicants to tell them the news. It was a bit awkward, but exciting nonetheless :)</p>

<p>I have received 3 calls from UCSD. On the third call, the guy just congratulated me AGAIN and then when I didn’t sound too surprised, he asked if I already heard the news. I said yes and he went on to answer all my questions. He told me if I havent already heard, I was invited to a weekend overnight stay at UCSD. I would receiving news of it in the mail soon and it would be on the same weekend as the Freshman invite day. </p>
<p>I asked why I was getting the call? He said he wasn’t too sure because he was just a volunteer, but he said we were definitely lucky to be contacted. He also asked me about where I wanted to go etc. A really nice guy and I have definitely put the whole compton cookout thing in the past. </p>
<p>UCSD sounds awesome, and I am definitely going to the overnight stay.</p>
<p>I recieved a call from a student congratulating me on my acceptance. She said I was invited to an overnight program and offered to answer any questions. This was the only call I recieved though; none from faculty.</p>
