*punches, not bunches hahaha wow, too late.

and Davis doesnt even read essays

no, felisha-i totally respect you
u worked hard and got a 4.0 and almost a 2200 on your SAT, along with all that other stuff-you belong to go there. hell you should be in UCSD.
but someone who’s gpa is only .04 over the minimum required should not be admitted into UC Davis under any circumstances.

@KMA

Honestly, i know what you mean. But really, i know im smart enough to be there, i just dont look good on paper. Im like in charge of everything at my school though. ive been my tennis team MVP for 4 years and Captain for two. Student body and senior class president. and im Nigerian. so those things helped.

I feel great.

and its .042

well why wouldnt you feel great

@KMA, life will work out. It always does. If you’re somewhere you love, do what you gotta do. UC has seem hella crazy admissions stats, obviously, but man, we will see what life brings us all.

I don’t mean to intrude on what appears to be a rant, but I am curious to know if you, KMA, have been accepted into any college of choice and your stats.

Correct me if I am wrong, but UCD runs a Comprehensive Review that tries to evaluate us all as individuals, rather then numbers on paper. I’m sure that they do indeed read the essays and such essays, being good, display a bit of personality and character that helps decide if the UCD campus will benefit from an individual’s presence.

Perhaps your application was only as generic as UCD expected; you did not display any unique qualities that would make you a productive member of their community. After all, you assume that "Davis doesnt even read essays "

Nonetheless, I wish the best of luck in your college career and give you, Shadey101, a high five for your accomplishment. UCD must have its reasons for denying paper-qualified applicants.

I honestly couldnt have said it any better myself.
And thank you.

Did you get in?

Yea I’m ****ed I didn’t get in either.

“comprehensive review” is the name given to the process of looking over your application. Davis assigns a number of points to each category in which academics constitute for about 80% of the total points, and essays-which are only read to see if you endured hardships etc, etc-only make up 20%. Now correct me if Im wrong, but if you wrote a mean essay-you would only get 20% of all available points-and with that GPA your not getting squat out of the academic portion

GPA 4.0 W
3.6 UW
1960 SAT
630 on both SATII

stuff like that
pretty good essays

1250 sat (m + cr + w)

got in!

^ you said you had a 2300 and 34 act in the waitlisted topic? ■■■■■

3.2 UC GPA
1980 Sat 1, 680 & 650 Sat 2
4 years of MUN
2 years of tennis
club president
about 200 hours of community service
internship
pretty good essays apparently

Why? Would it still be if you had gotten in? I understand you’re upset, and sorry you didn’t get in, but no need for the attitude here, telling someone they couldn’t get into Merced? Come on.

Im not talking about my self. UC Davis-the almighty school with an average GPA of 4.0 admitted a bunch of people with extremely sub par stats. Majority of people here are no where close to a 4.0-it honestly does seem like a joke.
There is no attitude, its straight fact.

@KMA, calm down! i felt the same way when i got rejected by Cal Poly for engineering when one of my friend with much MUCH lower stats got in. yes, i thought cal poly was well… just a crap school. but, now i realized cal poly wasn’t for me and that UC Davis is probably the school I should go to.

plus, you should feel lucky to go to college. do you know how many people don’t have the chance to go to college in the world? yes… a lot. just calm down.

KMA: Of course they’re going to admit people below 4.0… it’s the AVERAGE, not the minimum – big difference. Also, believe it or not, there are other factors that determine intelligence and ability to succeed in college besides a GPA and some test scores. And when you say it seems like a joke to you, yes, that’s an attitude.

naixn92 is correct.

@KMA Sour grapes. Be nice, guys ) :
