Accepted

go look at the waitlisted thread-dont you believe there are more people on that thread that deserve to be at that school than there are on this one. I think they are. and I am entitled to my own opinion and I can say whatever I want to. Please dont try to “gang up” on me and make me look terrible.

I definitely understand where KMA is coming from. He/she might be frustrated about not getting in, but what he/she said is nothing but the truth. Seeing the stats of some of the people who got in does leave some us questioning how the hell is the average Davis admit 4.0. Maybe its the large amount of ELC that they automatically admit… who knows?

And to those who are criticizing KMA, you’re definitely not complaining because you got in so you don’t understand what it’s like to be on the other end of things.

And for those who did get rejected/waitlisted, screw Davis, its their loss.

My theory is that the majority of people on CC go to high achieving schools, so Davis accepts people with lower GPA’s from those schools because they’re more challenging.

KMA, were you considering UC Davis? I understand you are upset because all these people with lower stats are getting in, hell I am shocked too, but don’t rage. Yes, the process may seem unfair but I am sure the AdComs know what they are doing and it is naturally to get upset over a rejection or something you know you should have gotten.

Are you even considering Davis? If you are, try to appeal. :)

Thank you to the last three people who actually can see what I am talking about.
Yea im still considering Davis, but idk. Im going to Irvine this weekend to see the campus again, and what not-and i guess only then I can truly make a decision. But I will still accept the waitlist offer.

Nice. I hope you enjoy your trip! If you’re planning on pre med, I hope Davis accepts you so maybe we can cross paths!

haha well i hope so too my friend.

It could be that only a small proportion of the UCD applicants visit here. Those with fairly low stats could also probably be more eager to search the web for help and advice.

So…a small population of the total applicant pool… leads you to assume that UCD artificially inflates its stats?

Again, I’m sorry KMA D: But, in my school, everyone who deserved to get into Davis did, and some of them had great stats, like 4.3/2200, so I think the ones that were waitlisted on CC are anomalies. I think it’s just the way that CC is, and that perhaps the upset and angry ones post more frequently than the ones who did get in.

I hope your appeal goes through, I know that Miss Sun (check her out) is very successful for counseling on how to file appeals.

KMA i know exactly how you feel and i’m mad that people are ganging up on you! you are allowed to be upset. good luck on the waitlist. i’m on it too :frowning: (4.18gpa and 33act)
i personally like irvine better anyways, it’s just far away from home for me. davis is much closer… but it smells like cows… :P

congrats to the people that got in!

No, you’re probably wrong. Having good test scores does NOT mean you deserve to be anywhere. There are several other (better) factors that determine success in college. Perhaps the adcoms made a mistake, it does happen, but you seem to be under the mentality that having good grades means you should be accepted, and this simply isn’t true. Again I’m sorry you didn’t get in. How is anyone “ganging up on you”?

I didn’t want to be mean to you @KMA. I was just asking you to calm down! I even told you that I actually know how you are feeling right now because I experienced it too, 2 months ago when I got rejected from my dream school.
