I never expected to be waitlisted at bunches of places. I thought I'd be in or out, and now I don't know what to do! Can someone explain the waitlist process to me? Particularly, is it common to take a spot on multiple waitlists from different schools, or is that a serious no-no?

i don't know anything about WLs... but id say go for it!

You may be on as many waitlists as you want. You should also be sure make a deposit at one of your accepted colleges by the May 1st deadline. Should you be accepted off a waitlist, then you will need to notify your original college. You will probably forfeit the deposit, however.

That's what I'm doing... WUSTL and JHU. And if I get waitlisted at either/both of the other two schools I'm waiting on, I'll probably take them up on the offer too. It can't hurt, and you aren't obligated to go if you're put on the waitlist.

Thanks, guys! :)

Yes, same as the above posters. Make sure you send in your deposit else where but why not stay on all of them just in case? I've been waitlisted 3 places so I know how you feel...I really thought it would be a simple yes or no. (the schools are Richmond, Lafayette, and JHU.)
