Hi I'm in 7th grade and I'm hoping to go to Access Exeter this summer in preparation for applying for the actual school for 9th grade. I want to know if I have a shot for the camp and if I'm on my way to Exeter academy.

For 6th grade I went to a public magnet school:
Science = 96
Honors Algebra I = 98
Latin 1a = 99
English = 98
World Cultures = 97
Science Olympiad (1 sem) = 98
Computer Tech (1 sem)= 99
Math & the Arts (1 sem) = 100

For 7th grade I am home schooled and doing online courses from Northwestern, Stanford & John Hopkins:
(grades so far)
Honors Latin 1 (Wheelock) = 99
Honors Intro Philosophy = 96
7th grade physical science = 97
7th grade English grammar = 97
Honors Geometry = 99

SATs:
Math = 730
Writing = 660
Reading = 680
(have yet to take the SSAT)

E-Cs:
Knowledge Masters (6th grade): 1st in state, 5th in nationals
Latin Club (6th grade): 39/40 on National Latin Exam
Mathcounts: probably going to go to state this year
Piano: 7 yrs
Violin: 3 months
Girls' Choir: 3 months
Tennis: not competitive, on and off for a long time

Essay: pretty good IMHO but have room for improvement

Letters of Recommendation: most likely really good

I've also gone to four different academic summer camps:
SIG (Vassar), CTY (Stanford - 3 times), Mathworks (Texas State), and Mathzoom (Cal Polytech)

Please respond ASAP I really want to know if I have a shot!!!

Getting into Access Exeter is not as rigorous as getting into Phillips Exeter for the academic year. You appear very bright so I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you.

your grades and test scores are and obviously will be perfect but I think you lack a little in non-academic EC’s. Try to get really involved/good at something, like piano for you. Those 3 month things won’t really count for anything

Yeah I agree I probably do need to work on E-Cs… I’m doing a bunch of piano competitions this year so hopefully that will help… and about the math SAT… It’s just practice… lots and lots and lots of practice

Well. You are definitely doing way better than I am. I am also a 7th grader hoping to apply to Exeter/Andover/Putney.I would definitely get into Putney but I’m not so sure about Exeter. You are on the right path. I could never do half that good. Good luck getting in

I think you’ll be fine. I went to Upper School last year, and I don’t think Access looks as fun as Upper School, though you do get to go on trips. Upper Schoolers will make fun of Access kids every once in a while, but it’s nothing to worry about. I’m sure you’ll have fun. What cluster will you sign up for?

Grats!!! I knew you would, you totally dont need more ECs people here spaz about it. Will you apply to prep school next year? you’d have a great shot I think.

My d participated in Access Exeter and had a great time. They have a lot of parties on the weekend and there was a trip to an amusement park. My d’s section went to Boston for the weekend. She now attends boarding school with several friends from Access Exeter.
