Hi, I went to freshman orientation and I registered for my courses, but I accidentally signed up for CHE 131 which is general chemistry instead of CHE 141, which is honors chemistry. I took AP Chemistry in high school so I'm well acquainted with the topics. Will it make a difference when I try to transfer out or if I apply to medical school?

Also...I registered for Calc III..and I'm not sure if i should just stick with it or drop the math and take another science course.....

If you are going to medical school, I don't see how calc III will help. I would get my requirements filled instead of bothering with it,

As for chem131, the honors section has quite a large number of students too (~80), so I don't know what the advantages for the class are exactly (excpet for the competitive students, of course). If the material isn't much harder, it can't hurt to have "honors" on the transcript.

oo but i got a 5 on the calc bc test so i'm skipping calc I and II. I just don't know if i should just not take math or go beyond the pre med req and take calc III

calc is not tested on the mcat nor in any other class after phys (mech), so for "medical" purposes, calc III will be useless in your education. If you are interested and want to take it, it shouldn't be a problem. I would take it just to have a grade for math since you skipped I and II.

I enrolled for Calc III with apps(worth 4 credits).....didn't know if i should've taken that or just regular Calc III(worth 3 credits)....dunno which one's more relevant for the med field....

I took the AP Calculus AB exam and received credit for MAT 131. As a result, I was placed in MAT 132. I asked my adviser and he said that if i have AP credit, I should take it and this won't screw up my chances at medical school. Is he correct? Should I listen to him or just retake 131?

I'm also taking regular chemistry because all the seats were filled up for honors by the time of my orientation. I find it somewhat strange that they have the orientation for the college of science and society towards the end when most of the good science classes have already been filled. anyway, that was my rant but I'm also taking Calc III with applications in the fall. I asked the math advisor for the difference between Calc III and CalcIII with applications and she said that the former is more theoretical. Since I love my graphing calculator, i chose to take the one with applications. I was told I didn't need to since I have a 5 on the BC exam and a 9 on the assessment test but if I must, I should take the one with applications since many of the applications are towards science.

orientation date is not scheduled by which college youre in.... its basically first come, first serve [the earlier you sent out your acceptance thingie, the earlier your orientation].

No, it's also scheduled by College. Each College has two dates. Yes, the earlier deposits get the earlier Orientation dates, but they're based first on your College.
