My mentor for my internship wrote me a recommendation letter but he screwed up the dates and it doesn't correlate with my Common App. I had interned for three years but he said I interned for two years. Is that bad? Should I call the school?

Also when I went to the school for an interview - I had made a resume. But it was made in a rush so some of the dates are also off - The regional adviser kept the resume.

call the school(s) concerned definitely. even if they don't care/ notice the disparity they'll still appreciate your honesty/integrity/concern.

I'm guessing you can't change the common app after submission? If possible tryto get the mentor to drop the school a note too, that'd be the best thing.

be careful how you word the second part though - you don'twant themto think resum

The thing is that - my mentor has already done so much for me. And my mom wants me to just call in and tell them that I had made a mistake about the dates. Because she feels that me interning for 2 or 3 years won't make a difference. If I do that and call in and tell them it was me who made the mistake - would that reflect badly on me?
