I also don't know how to change it on Common App if I wanted to!
I did research one summer and accidentally wrote July 2009 through August 2010 instead of 2009! I also did research the next summer that was June 2010-September 2010 >.<. What should I do? Should I email colleges about the mistake? I already was deferred from my ED school....

You can make a new version of your common application. Under instructions on the common application, it details how to do this. Any errors can be corrected on the new version.

I would contact the schools.

Should I email them? Should I have my counselor write it in the mid-year update thing? Should I call? AHH I’m FREAKING OUT right now! It will make it seem like I was careless but I seriously checked my resume like 8 times!

I figured out the version thing though Thanks!

There’s another problem >.< My colleges aren’t already added to the alternate version and my school uploads things electronically so I don’t know if things will connect to the alternate version.

I think its an honest mistake and you should just email the school.

Yes, recommendations will connect to the alternate version.

However, you can’t switch versions for schools you already submitted to. I would probably email ASAP, but you might want to wait for someone else to give you advice. I’m only an applicant myself.

They will. My teacher recs from my original Common App could be uploaded to my alternate version.

@glassesarechic, I mean will they be uploaded automatically? I’m on break now so if they’re not that’s a problem.

Okay, I had to physically “move” all of the colleges to my alternate version so all the documents and everything are still okay. I still don’t know what to do about my other colleges though >.< I guess I’ll ask my GC after break. I mean, there is the chance that admissions officers won’t even notice.

I hadn’t uploaded teacher recs before moving my schools to the alternate version, but if they don’t automatically update, you should be able to add them again. Since they’ve already uploaded their rec to the Common App (I’m assuming, since you’ve already sumitted several apps), you’ll be able to access and upload it from the alternate version with no effort on their part.

@glassesarechic, everything worked out fine with that stuff now I just need to know what to do for the colleges I already submitted to…
I guess that can wait till we get back from break.
