ACE Program

Did anybody else get an invite for SCU's ACE Program? If so, are you going to do it? I got the letter today, and it sounds interesting, but I'm not sure if I'll be attending Santa Clara. I'm hoping to visit in April, but for the people who went to February's Distinguished Student Invitational, could you possibly post on what it was like? Thanks guys!

you should definitley go to the invitational. you get to learn a lot about santa clara- what the dorms are like, what classes are like and general life on campus. I liked it but I am still unsure. the only thing is that it's kind of small. but is there anything specific that you'd like to know about?

agh, i think i have a problem. i just found out that i got invited to the honors program at tulane university and although i wasn't really considering tulane (i applied because it was free w/ their personal app.), the honors program plus like 1/2 tuition makes it pretty good. the problem though is that their invitational is during the same weekend as santa clara's! this kind of sucks, but i don't even know how my parents are feeling about tulane, so we'll see.

ok, hmm.. questions...
1) how was the student body? would you be able to label them as some group? were they friendly?
2) how were the kids that were also at the invitational? were they nice? did most of them seem like they were going to go to SCU or were most still undecided?
3) what is the town like???
4) how were the dorms? (size, set up)
5) how big is the campus? how's the gym/exercise facilities and equipment?
6) do you know if the campus has a wireless network?

and i'll stop at #6 (for now!)... thanks in advance idontknow for your response! i really appreciate it!

1- Student body is mainly middle class suburban kids. It isn't very socially economically diverse. But for the most part they were really friendly although I wasn't too crazy about my host- she wasn't very helpful
2- kids at invitational were really nice and smart. most were undecided and santa clara was "the safety school" but i think the invitational made them put santa clara higher on their list
3- I'm from the area- so I think the area is pretty nice and safe. It's close to the mall and there's tons of stuff to do
4- Dorms are pretty small but not too bad- they have sinks in them. although i think the suites for uperclassmen are really nice
5- campus isn't too big but it's still easy to get lost if you don't know where you're going
6- not too sure about wireless- but i don't think so
