I sent supplementary materials to UChicago to my regional counselor's email and collegeadmissions@uchicago 2 days ago and I didnt get any email acknowledging they received it. Should I email them to ask if they have received it or would that just annoy them?

HappyBuddha, give it a bit of time- we’re in the middle of visiting programs for admitted students, so many admissions counselors are a bit backed up on e-mail while organizing and working the programs. If you don’t hear back in a week or so, send a quick note to check in.

Oh ok i see - Thanks!

Its been more than a week, and I havent got an acknowledgement yet. Is this normal, or should i email them?

Yeah still nothing - is this normal???

When should I expect a response, if I sent an email asking them yesterday?

Anyone???

You should get an e-mail soon…

Alright hopefully

Should I be worried if they dont reply by this week

HappyBuddha (or anyone else), if you e-mailed it in, do not worry- it has been received. There are many students sending in materials who wish to remain on the waitlist, and with the number of supplements coming in from students and the programming we’ve been organizing on campus for admitted students, it is becoming impossible to send a personal reply to each and every e-mail we receive. I apologize for the inconvenience, but do know that we’re spending the time READING the letters instead of comprising individual responses to all students.

uchicagopsac, is it okay if we sent our letter to our regional counselor via the “contact your counselor” form on the uchicago page? is there anywhere else one should send it or should that be okay? thanks psac

@RoboticsFreak, that will go to your counselor’s e-mail address (or the general counselor e-mail address, if you did not specify one, which is checked daily)- so you should be fine.

Ok thanks a lot! Will we get notified via phone call of our decision, or is that only if you get accepted?

i sent a snail mail and an email. hope that’s not too bothersome or anything… i only did this because the last time i sent something in through the regular mail, it got lost =/

Yeah I sent both email and real mail, and my counselor finally emailed me yesterday telling me that he added my stuff to my file :)

oh okay, that makes me feel better haha hopefully i get an email back saying my counselor received my stuff soon!

I just realized that while I updated chicago on my grades, I did not ask my counselor to send an official document - is it too late now, or would it be a problem at all?
