I certainly elected to stay on the wait list, however, on my UChicago account it only shows a check net to wait list reply and my three drop down options are do not include the option "post-decision" materials. Should I have received any official confirmation that I am indeed on the wait list. I have heard nothing since March 18th?

No official confirmation.

Strange that you don’t have the post-decision materials option, might be a bug or something.

My suggestion is to email your regional admissions officer to ask if your waitlist confirmation was received and why you don’t have the option to upload post-decision materials.

Have you not sent in a letter of interest?

I think that they should be rolling in pretty soon…hopefully. I’ve seen a couple of CCers posting that they have indeed been taken off the waitlist and accepted to UC.
The post-decision materials option is not available because it’s probably too late to send in stuff as the admission committee looking at all the waitlisted applicants at this time?

I’m not sure, but that’s what i’m thinking:)

Wait, I see now that I can’t submit ‘post-decision materials’ any more either. That option has been replaced with ‘other.’ Is this the case for you as well, ih15?

RZHUUU may be right that the adcom has decided to cease accepting letters of interest and EC updates in order to review everything… Which would actually be quite exciting! I spent so much time and emotional energy on my letter (it ended up ~1000 words long, which what‽‽‽, just what) that my only wish is for someone, anyone to give meaning to my madness and effing read it.

I think maybe the post-decision material tab sometimes goes away and comes back, because I remember not being able to see it back in late March or early April. I sure hope they are taking updates! I might get more awards. And I emailed my regional officer yesterday again, haha.

@Ghostt

haha i hope that someone gets to read it, too! mine is 886 words, two pages, single spaced. so it’s a lot of extra achievements/progress that has been made!

let’s hope we all get in!

does anyone have data on…
how large the waitlist pool is?
acceptance rate from waitlist pool from last year?

omg i seriously thought people were ■■■■■■■■ earlier but
it’s true. the chicago waitlist is open cause I JUST GOT IN. the regional counselor for mass called me and told me that he has to advocate ppl to the dean of admissions for admission from the waitlist. i said yes, he said that they’d send me a favorable decision in 24 hrs :DDD

i wrote a few emails to him, had my college counselor call, went to a college fair (for the juniors at my school) and said hi to him before the fair and gave him a few essays and a recommendation from my club advisor.

ALKDJFKLADJF CONGRATS TO EVERYONE AND IM SO EXCITED TO BE AT CHICAGO NEXT YEAR!!! don’t lose hope!

I am effing freaking out now. Screw AP exam tomorrow

btw, im so sorry for posting this on your thread. i had two tabs open and i thought i was posting in the official waitlist discussion. so uh, disregard me.

are waitlisted applicants called or e-mailed or notified via UChicago Account/online for the notification?
