lol most people wouldn't mind this treatment, plagmayer. :p When I exfoliate..it really irritates my skin and makes the acne soo much worse. Which exfoliator do you use Crayon? I use Clean & Clear Morning Burst which really does wakes you up but, my aunt--who's a doctor--said it strips away the layers of your skin, making you more prone to sun damage. So I pretty much stopped with the exfoliator..and now I use a more gentler cream cleanser. And after using the cream cleanser, the oily skin got much better cuz I think my face was over-producing oil from the initial dryness. Strange..what the face will do.

Apricot Scrub is bad too. Ah, for now I'm not using anything except for a neutro face wash.

plagmayer... its possible that the german air was good for your skin. i have a friend from here in nyc who had pretty bad skin but a few years back she went to boarding school in geneva where the air is so clear and unpoluted and her skin cleared up right away.

i myself have never had bad skin, but i think its because i eat a lot of fruit and drink lots of water. i think in general, what you put in is what you get out, so if youre eating lots of junk and drink sugary sodas, it will come back and haunt you in some way.

contrary to popular belief, eating greasy/junk food does not cause or contribute to acne.

I drink a lot of tea and healthy soup. Exercise eat a lot of fruits and veggies. I don't have a lot but a few. probably 4-5 on my cheeks

eating greasy food might not directly affect your skin, but it will indirectly. (touching your face w/ your nasty greasy fingers, etc lol)

haha yeah well, that could do it.

I think one's diet overall is a big factor. I read that acne only started showing up very recently (last 100-150 years.) I have heard acne is attributed to all the the preservates and unnatural chemicals in our foods. In uncivilized countries ther is no acne at all and once these people move to western, cultures and change their diet it shows up these people also. So although no one food attributes to acne, overall diet is a huge factor. I guess this doesn't really help anyone though. Unless you want to start growing and killing your own food.

Benzoyal peroxide is also very messes- bleaches everything your face comes in contact with me... and trust me on that I have a whole collection of bleached clothes (now junk) because of the benzoyal peroxide as well as a whole bed set ruined because of it. However I do recommend differin

I had an inadvertant experiment that had to deal with acne and it has proven it doesn't have anything to do with diet- rather the environment... During christmas vacation I was home all week. Acne cleared up and I still ate the same things. However when I went back to school it showed up again. This is because when going out into the "world" you are exposed to much more bacteria in the air as well as on your hands. Your hands touch your face and consequently you get the acne because of the build up of oil on your face plus yourself coating your face with the bacteria

Proactive dried out my face at first, but it works...just use a separate moisturizer

Besides the regular creams and pads other people use, I take a supplement called Juics+

If you have acne, I suggest you find out where you can get this product and start taking it now. It consists of dehydrated, smashed fruits, vegetables, and other essential amino acids and minerals. It helped improved my acne on my face and my immune system. I have not had a cold since I've taken this supplement.

I also suggest drink more than 8 glasses of water per day. Along with my supplements, more water has helped keep my bathroom visits regular and hydrated. I believe that drinking more water helps nourish your face and free it of dirt and oils.

the alcohol thing worked for me also. I went to Spain last year, and before I left I had really bad acne (and I was using Retin-A Micro). In Spain, I stopped using my medicine, and I also drank alcohol (alot of it). Magically my acne disappeared in Spain, but when I returned to the US it came right back.

I used to use Benza-Clin, and it kinda worked for me, but not as well as I liked....New acne kept appearing, and all my acne was not dissapearing...only some of it......

So I went to the doctor, and am currently trying Benza-Mycin, which is stronger...

I have light/medium acne...its not that bad, but you can tell I have acne....

i agree: proactiv + olay lotion = perfect skin (exception of one or two bumps during PMS, which is quickly zapped by clean&clear perspagel10). i didnt really have acne before, but just not nice skin...it's a lot more even now
