awards: ap scholar with distinction, numerous volunteer awards

how much of a chance do i have?

First question to ask is, are you a rising senior (that is, will you be a senior this fall)?

If you want honest chances, you will need to give us a better description of your profile. Right now, it's very lacking in detail, and based on what you've written, you pretty much have NO chance at getting in.

But you haven't given us other essential information. What state are you from? Are you Hispanic, black, or any other minority? What's your class rank? Do you have any leadership positions? How good is your school? Has it admitted applicants to the most competitive colleges (top 25)?

very competitive. every year, we have students attending almost all of the ivys and other top schools. class rank is top 2%, but it won't be shown on the transcript. I'm biracial(asian and white), from minnesota, from low income family (mom dropped out of high school, sibling also dropped out because of family problems.) I led a class (mandatory for the whole school).

Sorry, the last section in Acts is Acts 28.

Ah, seriously...well, SAT and SATII scores would be helpful. You have the background to create a very good essay, that would help. And how good are you at the cello?

I got in using only a 29 ACT (didn't submit my SAT or SAT IIs), with significantly fewer APs than you did. Don't worry, just write a good essay and hope for the best.

how were your ec, grades, and did you have a major hook like an invention or something??

I went to public school in New Mexico. I had an UW 4.0. I had a lot of the standard EC stuff...Student Body President, lots of work at the school newspaper/yearbook, volunteer work at museums and shelters. Not really sure what my 'hook' was (geographic diversity?), but I got into several good schools. Just make it evident who you are, what's important to you, and hope there aren't too many others that are too similar applying.
