just wondering
is it true that at some colleges if you take ACT, you don't have to take SAT subject tests? =D

correct me if I'm wrong because this seems too good to be true

u do need to take SAT subject tests XP

It's true at Duke. I'm not sure about any other top-tier schools, though. I know they aren't required, just recommended at Stanford.

Some colleges will allow you to subject the ACT + Writing for the SAT + Subject Tests.

I don't know which ones specifically have this policy, but I'm sure you could find that out.

Yale will allow you to wave SAT and Subject tests for the ACT. depends on what school your looking for. i have this list of all schools the need subject tests and don't if anyone wants.

I would really want it Crunkk if you could pm it to me or post it here.

me too please. thanks in advance

also, if a person performs better on the act than the sat, but needs to take sat subject tests...can you submit an act score and subject test scores without the sat score?

^ I'm wondering that too.

If he/she is in the graduating class of 2010 or later. If it's a 2009 student then no, the SAT and SAT II's show up on the same transcript to schools.

sorry guys my gmail account isnt working right now im going to try later on.

Damn so if I'm graduating in 2009 then colleges will see both my subject and sat 1 scores even if i choose to use my act score?

if you send your ACT no, but if you also send in your SAT II's the colleges will see everything.

Craaapppp....

great, son will graduate hs in 2010! the cr part of sat drags his sat score down.

alright thanks for responses guys (svalbard, I was thinking Duke and you confirmed =D)
yea I see some people were talking about that 2010 SAT policy
collegeboard is changing the way peeps can report their SAT scores so it is just like ACT reporting, which means you can pick the highest score at any one SITTING (no more superscores I guess); apparently you may also pick your highest subject tests and send those individually
this will be in effect after March 2009 I believe:
Score Choice

cheers
