ACT April 4 ---- main discussion

i think i put c... isooctane/ (isooctane+heptane) x100

yay i did too

it was isotane/ (heptane+isotane)*100 gal

The parabola rectangle one you just multiplied the (#a+#) on the right by (2)a (the bottom).

For the ac sequence...Was there one where it had b^2 and d^2? I remember my answer had a^3 and c^4 (or 4-3: a added one exponent and c added one I forget the exact exponent #'s).

then what was that a=0<x<3/2 or whatnot???? (but yay... got that too)

Anyone get the question on math number 54 I think? You had to find how tall the building was by the angle of elevation, which was sin4/5. And the shadow cast by the building was 24 ft. So 24 ft was the bottom of the triangle and sin4/5 was the hypontenuse. And you had to find th other leg. Anyone???

Air Force- It was 32

how did you do it?

The sin ratio was reduced...I think it was 32 for the leg and 40 (the hyp) but I don't remember exactly.

Does -7/25 ring a bell for anyone on the Math?

Does anyone remember what the fraction was, where it was like "if x>27, ...." and it had a polynomial in the numerator and denominator, and they canceled out?

beyond_stressed: if you factored, you could cancel it to (x+1)/(x+1) making the answer 1.

sin was in quadrant 2 it said 90 to 180

yeh i got 32...i forgot how i did i just put a bunch of stuff together

Edit:

I got that problem wrong.

90-180 is indeed quad II, my Math teacher would be ashamed of me.

and i remember something about seeing a -7/25 and i just put -7/25 and moved on

it was 7/25 i think

so any concensus to what the answer was for the question about the cube in the sphere?

Was it 2sqrt3????

yea 2sqrt3
