ACT at U of Chicago

I was just wondering what would be a solid ( or even what is the lowest you have ever heard of someone getting in) ACT score for a male latino from the west coast would be. I have a lot of ECs with leadership, starting an organization, two sports, drama, etc. I would spend a lot of time on my essays trying to make them as legit as possible. Thank you so much!

aim for at least 32 to be on the safer end of the spectrum

well you are a urm, so i think that it'd be lower for you. i'd say u could pull off a 29 or 30 and get in

ok. 29-30 sounds very reasonable. i really hope i can get it!!!!

Here are the numbers from the admissions website.

[quote]

DISTRIBUTION BY COMPOSITE ACT SCORES
30-36 68%
26-29 23%
21-25 8%
16-20 1%

Mid 50%
ACT 28-33

i wouldn't settle for anything less than a 34

At Chicago test scores are only considered, they do not play the role they do elsewhere. Good performance in the most challenging curriculum available, good recommendations, and good essays all trump test scores.

One of my friends told me that when she had her interview with a UChicago counselor, the counselor mentioned that a salutatorian got admitted with a 21.

I'm in the 8% of the ACT scores, so I'm still kinda worried. : (

As long as you don't bomb, (Take that as you will), and have good EC's, grades, recommendations, and great essays you should do fine.
