ACT English approach

Do you actually read the whole passage when taking the English section or do you just skip over to the underlined portion and answer it? Or anyone else would like to share how they approach it? That would be really helpful. Thanks!

Generally, I just skip to the sentences with the underlined sections. Usually, that’s all you need to answer the question, although every so often you may need to read the sentence before or after it too for context. For the questions that ask the best order for the sentences, just read over the paragraph. Other than that, you really do not have to read much of the passage at all.

Thank you for replying. I will definitely try this. I have been reading the whole passage but I realized I didn’t need to. Thank you!
