<p>Can anyone tell me how the essay portion of the ACT is scored? Is it similar to the SAT writing portion? Do two graders give you a score? Are they looking for certain things?</p>

<p>I'm taking the test next week, and I've done much more SAT prep than ACT. Do you think, in general, the essay sections on the two tests are more or less comparable as far as what they are looking for?</p>

<p>it's also out of 12,,,and the topics are usually easier than those in the SAT,,,because the questions are usually "yes" or "no" questions. So you don't really have to think much(less headache) and plus you get 30 minutes to do the essay, while on the other hand, you only have 25 minutes on the SAT essay</p>

<p>What about format? I've heard a lot of talk concerning the SAT essays about how you need to include examples, etc. Any of that for the ACT?</p>
