Yeah I got 2y too...I'm pretty sure its right.

Um, spaz, I believe it was still f(2x)...
And the proof one, you had to say that the vertical angles were congruent, it was angle B...so which ever had B in the middle is congruent to B in the middle
some that I remember
range=6
reading WWI, an answer was like pro-Wilson something
780sin40
1100
confidence
the story about stage fright explained how to over come it
reading, anyone remember the one about materials he ordered? I put spark of ingenuity
for the mom's room, the suveneirs (sp?) were from her children who left and now have like sentimental value or something

spazz, i hope you're wrong about that math one. i was almost sure i was gonna get a 36 on it :(

now I look over the problem, I tihnk its 2y, either I'm remembering wrong what I put or I put 2f(y) =/..

I think the proof was D? or B..can't remember
it was showing the angles in the middle were the same

I think the math was f(2y). Y was given as the current price, and it asked how much the company would earn if the current price was doubled. Since earlier they defined it as x (any price) gave f(x) (total earning), doubling (2y) would give f(2y)

^^^Exactly

I agree and I put that. But since spazz brough up the transitions, a f(2y) would DECREASE the horizontal value by 1/2...I still agree with f(2y), but just throwing the transition thing out there.

YAY! for f(2y)

any word on the all i've done is/was grown up question

Its deffinately is grown
All I have done was grow...doesnt make sense.
It would be..
All I HAD done was grow...
Therefore...
It's All I have done is grow.
Since I've=I have and I'd=I had

I think imma get a 25.

the question as i remember was f(x) represents the number sold. Y represents the price. The question is how many sold if the price was doubled. so has to be f(2y)

I think I'll get a 26 in math, but I'm sooooo hoping I get a 30.

it was the one on the smoky mountains park passage...answers were like a) humans were irreversibly destroying the habitat b) dont remember c) americans dont care abt new species d)dont remember

for the "was grow up" v "is grow up" :
I put "was grow up" because "I've = I have" which is past progressive and "done" is simple past (do is present).
Hence, to remain in past tense you need "was."

However, if this is an idiomatic expression, the laws of grammar do no apply. I really would like to know what the correct answer is.

As for the math: it's f(2y) and here's why:

Here's an example of a relationship between price and quantity sold:
High price = Ferrari
low price = honda Civic

Which one is bought more? Honda Civic. Hence, we can conclude that the f(x) relationship is an inverse relationship. If you put 2f(y) you're implying that twice as many people will buy the product as when the price was normal. Using simple logic, you can deduct that the only reasonable answer is f(2y).

are you sure about that one necrophiliac? i thought any verb phrase using "has" or "have" is present perfect, and ones that use "had" are past. i put is because logically, he has been doing in for some time and will continue to grow in the future.

logically, the growing took place before the trip to Florida to see her aunt. "Have" is used in:
"I have seen the end. Not even the children were spared."
"Had" is used in:
"I had a 36 on the English section. Now I realize that 35 is the best I can hope for."

Had is perfect past. Have is past progressive. "is having" is present.

Consider:
"All I do is grow"
"All I have been doing this afternoon is growing."
"All I have done in the past did not prepare me for the ACT."

(see how "does not prepare me for the ACT" would not make sense with tenses?)

I'm having (heh) trouble remembering whether that sentence began "All I've" or "All I'd".

All I have done is grow up.
All I had done was grow up.

Reverse "is" and "was" between the sentences and they just don't make sense.

it was "I've" for a fact. That one question will forever be engraved in my mind.

And why do you say they don't make sense? If you're tuning this by ear, bad way to do it. You hear "I'm going to try AND get a 36 on this test" and "I'm angry AT you," all the time. How proper do you think your ear is?

Back to analyzing the sentence:
If you say "All I've done is grow up" you're saying that all I did and continue doing is in the present moment growing up. If you say "All I've done was grow up," you're saying that all I did and continue doing is expressed in my past growth.
sentence before was something along the lines of: You can't expect me to stay a child forever. (present) However the sentence after is something like: My aunt had difficulties (had = simple past). Hence, I think it's "was grow up" because it's parallel with her Aunt's trouble in the past.

wait so for the one in english it was

who knows? maybe it will spark a change
or who knows, maybe it will spark a change

with that sentence, though, it was speaking in the context of present changes. the guy was talking about graduation and how his mother was expressing her surprise at how much he had changed. it proceeds to say All I have done ____ grow. idk

I don't remember the question exactly but I think I said comma for that one. Who knows does not express a complete thought so is therefore a fragment. It is definitely a comma if they don't say that they will capitalize the first letter after the question mark.

edit: yeah but the graduation was in the past. Hence the growing was too according to your logic.
