I’ve taken the ACT three times, with the first two being mush lower than the third. The issue I have is that on the second one I opted to send the score to the college o want to go to so they now have my bad score and I have no way of deleting it (that I know of). I still plan on sending my better score, but I’m wondering if there is any way I could un-send the score (even though I took it in Feb). Also, if I can’t invalidate it, will the inclusion of the worse score hurt my chances of getting in?
Also, I apologize for the typos, after coming to this realization at 2 am I rushed to find some answers and cranked out this paragraph on mobile
You can delete ACT scores with the ACT after scores are released to you. However, that does not work to delete scores already sent to a college (if deleted by ACT, it simply sends a notice to the college whoich has already received the scores that the test has been deleted). You cannot otherwise “unsend” scores already sent to a college. In any event, you should not be concerned. Many colleges superscore the ACT and thus if you send another, they will use the highest section scores from the combined tests to determine admission and not hold any lower scores against you. Moreover, the ones that do not superscore all profess that they will use that test with the highest composite and not hold any lower scores in other tests against you.
Check the school’s policy. Some schools will only look at the best score while others will take a holistic approach And if i may ask, can you share the scores? However, something that a Dartmouth Admissions officer told me, taking the test more than 3 times won’t seem good to them.
Thank you guys so much for your help! I checked out their policy, and they take only the highest composite. Things are gonna be fine :).
If you get a DeLorean DMC-12 with flux capacitor installed up to 88 mph you can stop the school from receiving it.
@ihaveissue wish you the best!
