maybe the question was asking about how long they are known to live, which would have been 3200. I think that the 4000 was just a claim, it hadn't been proven. Then again, I'm having a hard time remembering a lot of the test... I have begun the "cleanse the mind" process :)

Like I said earlier, the question you are probably thinking of asked how long redwood trees grow for, and the answer to that is 500 years.

Yeah, it's 500 years. I thought it was 3000 at first, but when I reread the passage I found that it was 500.

does anyone know the answer to the question that asked about the Democratic Globe...was it just that or were we supposed to have the answer that said, which is no longer in business or something?

Easiest to Hardest:
English
Reading
Math
Science

I think I got a 34E, 33R, 36M, and like a 29S. lol, the science test was absolutely BRUTAL!!!!!!!!

For math my answers were:
1/24
x^2 and -720
48pi
100tan85

I said it was just the "democratic globe".

Ya, I just put democratic globe.

Democratic globe? Maybe there were two versions... Was this in the section that had to do with economic policy?

no it was in the English--the part about the lady journalist...

Did you read the reading passages in the reading section? I just kinda skimmed them.

At least for me, I think it's eaiser to do a slower, more comprehensive reading of the text first. That way I'm more confident in my anwsers, and I know where to refer to when trying to anwser questions. Even doing a relitivly slow reading, I was able to get to all the questions with a few minutes to spare.

Democratic globe? Uhh... It was in the section about the girl's father being a typographer? What was the question?

The Demorgraphic Globe was the name of the newspaper her father was a typer for I believe.

I must have gotten that wrong if I don't remember it. What was the question like, if you remember?

The question was about the first newspaper she started to write for I believe. The choices were something like...She began writing (longer sentence than this I just don't remember) for the Democratic Globe, which is no longer in existence today.
A.) No Change
B., C.) another version of same sentence
D.) Democratic Globe (with period at end)

The no longer in existence today didn't fit into the context of the sentence.

I thought the English and Reading went well (30's in both), Math went ok (29, or 28) and science..AHHH.. I went mindblank and unfortunately, I thought it was pretty hard.

Thanks I remember now... Got that on correct. I haven't found one that I got wrong yet.

Easiest to Hardest:

Math
English
Reading
Science!!(omg it sucked butt!)

So, is the ACT definitely graded on a curve based on how everyone does or is it a set scaled score for every test?

hey...i took the ACT's today too...I absolutely ABHORRED the reading section, definitely not enough time for 5 passages...as for the other answers you guys posted, I'm almost positive the one math question was 48pi, and the probability question, i put 1/24, not completely sure if its right though...you guys have such high standards...im shooting for a 32-33

i thought it was indeterminable instead of 100tan85
my opinion: (1=easy, 5=hard)
math(1), science(2), english (2), reading (4)
