Since a lot of schools have an EA deadline for Nov 1 or even earlier, does this mean I could not send in an ACT score from Oct 25 b/c it would not have been scored, or do schools accept them coming late and still let you apply early and consider that score?

bump......

Make sure you call the admissions office to the university you want to apply to and let them know of your situation. In most cases they understand and will accept incoming SAT/SAT II/ACT scores that were taken in October/November.

You can even get your guidance counselor to do it.

Why not take it on the earlier date? I think the ACT has a September test. You can study over the summer and take the exam.

It would also then not be any problem at all for ED/EA.

its not offered in my state for September, hence my problem and question...

I'm pretty sure what Ya-Alim said is correct. Just make sure you let the college know.

Okay, its just that on some of the college websites under admissions it says that in order for an application to be considered complete, all information (including test scores) must be submitted by the early action deadline. So what you are saying is that if I contact the college closer to that time, I can ask them if they will still accept my application EA even if the ACT score won't be in yet b/c it was take Oct 25? If their website says otherwise, how strict do you think they are with this? I had some emergencies and stuff that came up during this summer when I was supposed to take it but now need to cancel and take in Oct. Ugh..why can't I live in a state when it's offered in Sept!!!!

I'm driving for 2 hours to go to texas on september son

Really, wow! I doubt my parents will go for that...I'll try...talk about dedication! Good luck!

bump...

Do you think most colleges will accept late ACT scores even if I apply early and can't meet the deadline but send in old scores on time. I just also want my (hopefully) higher and newer scores to also be considered even if they come late b/c I unexpectedly had to cancel for tomorrow's ACT test and can't take in until Oct 25...

The October (and November) test dates are typically NOT too late for ED and EA, even if the application deadline has passed by the time you have test results. If you have an ED/EA school in mind already, then just call and double-check now.

Then, as soon as your test scores are available online, ask your school counselor to verify your scores and e-mail, phone, or fax them to your EA or ED college. (The results need to come from a high school official, NOT from YOU.) Even though you will have to follow up with "official" score reports, most college admission folks will be glad to have these preliminary results ASAP.
