October ACT & November SAT.. too late for ED?

Only reason I do not want to take these exams a month earlier because I don't want to cram and have more time to prep. I am starting a new job, and school starts late this year so I feel that I will need time to adjust from summer break. I feel that having both the ACT and SAT on top of it will be a bit too much.

I would like to apply ED to all my schools (Eight, tops) but I don't want to conflict with sending test scores. I have taken both exams before. I scored average (around a 1500) so I am retaking both to improve. Hmmm.. if not then I may just apply a bit after the ED deadline.

You do know that you can only apply ED to one school, right?
Both are too late. Is 1500 out of 2400? or 1600?

Like OP said you can only apply ED to one school and it is binding. Some schools will accept the October ACT (it will vary by school), but I don’t know of any schools accepting the November SAT…

Oops… I meant Early Action then, sorry.

Why don’t you take the October SAT?

Cramming. I explained why.

You need to check each college you are considering for last test it takes for EA. For some, the Oct ACT is too late, for others it is fine but Nov SAT is too late, and others even take as late as the Nov SAT.

Like drusba said, each school will have its deadlines clearly stated. You need to look up each school’s website and determine what’s needed. Have you begun to do this?

No asking random strangers will get you the info you require.

You should have planned for it much earlier. If you have thought of it in earlier summer, then you may even take the September ACT. It is always a risk to take the test so late for EA. First, you are applying in the dark without knowing your scores. Second, there are many cases of score delay. If you are currently getting ~1500/2400, I don’t see why you want to do EA at all. You better spend your time to improve your score and then apply RD later.

oh oops, my bad.
is it a 1500/1600 or 1500/2400? If it’s the former, I wouldn’t take the November SAT- I doubt you’ll get it back in time for the deadlines, which are usually the beginning of November to mid November.
Why not just cross your fingers and hope you do well enough on the ACT in October, and just send in the ACT score?

I think the OP’s 1500 is out of 2400 (in another thread she said she had a ACT 22)

Thank you all for your opinions & input. I have decided that I will not be applying Early Action to any schools.

Yes, I do have all of my deadlines written down. Thanks for the heads-up.

Is it true that if you apply earlier, schools usually lower their standards for admission? I hear this all the time.

That is not true at all.
