ACT practice tests

I'm taking the ACT in a week, and I'm taking my first practice test today.

I think I got it from College Counseling at my school.

I thought it was an official practice test, but I'm scoring higher than I expected (so far). Furthermore, everybody said "omg the ACT gives you no time", but after doing the grammar and math sections, I scored a 32 and 33 respectively, and did not run out of time.

Granted, I was making an effort to work quickly, but I did not have trouble finishing, and had at least a minute or two left on each section.

The booklet looks like this: http://www.geocities.com/ladartfrog/set748_02.jpg

Anyone know how accurate this is? Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks!

[EDIT] I remember somebody else saying something a few weeks ago about taking an ACT practice test, thinking it was really easy, and then being "actually challenged" on the real thing..

That's the only thing I used to review for my first one. I don't remember how the scores compared, I don't even think I finished it. And the time thing - it's not as bad as people make it out to be, but you won't have ten minutes to sit around at the end of each 25-min section like the SAT. As long as you work fast, like you said you were, and you finish, it won't be a problem. Also, make sure to do the science practice part!! I know it's at the very end, but it's new for SATers, and you need to know what's coming, because it sucks. Also, what are you basing your expected score on?

That booklet's practice test was WAY EASIER than the real test, I took.

I believe it is easier. Go buy the real ACT prep book. Those tests are right on par.

Try Barron's or PR - they're the elite Test Prep books - "Kaplan's" is just Taboo, don't even GO there lol...

Time is an issue on the ACT - If you have been learning and understanding the material presented in school, the ACT isn't that bad - just go over the test taking skills to speed yourself up and you'll be fine with a couple of practice tests. :D
