It's almost time to start thinking about registering for the Sept ACT, so I started wondering...should I retake the ACT? I'm not sure how much better I can do, and since I will be having a majority of AP classes next year (my senior year), I don't know how much time I will have to study purely for ACT. But should I still go ahead and retake it? My family is also tight on money because I have a sibling going off to college in the fall, so money plays a HUGE factor in this decision. Thank you so much!

Also, I'm giving up on the SAT, so that's not an option. It just doesn't seem to like me! Have taken it two times and only got an 1850..:[

Depends on where you’re looking/wanting to go to college and what the rest of your stats look like. A lot of kids would be very satisfied with a 30, but if you have big dreams and are a typical CC student, a re-take would probably be in order.

I have a 3.9 unweighted GPA and a 4.19 weighted GPA. will have 8 AP classes Done by graduation, AP tests, I got a four on all of the ones I took (APUSH, AP environmental, AP English language)

Have not too many awards; just a couple of volunteer hour awards and a presidents volunteer service award…a High njrotc rank

Ec’s: data analysis and finance internship, varsity tennis, jrotc after school teams (3 of them), LINK Leader, volunteering for city and local hospital (500+hours)

Should I still retake for ones like UCI/UCD, UCLA, USC, Cal?

(sorry this almost just turned into a chance me. I’m REALLY sorry!!)

I don’t know the exact logistics regarding the average ACT scores for UCI/ UCD, but I know for sure that you’re above the average by a couple of points.

As for UCLA/ Cal, you’re right at the average with 30 points.

Considering you can take it again in Sept/ Oct/ Nov, I’d say go for it.
