My son had an error in self report ACT writing score on common app… the writing score he actually received was a 10, but on common app there is a 1 - 36 scale for writing score. He mistakenly reported his English Language Arts score 34. Will it be a matter if this is different from the official ACT score report? Should he email to the college to tell them this was an mistake?
I had to google that…it threw us off seeing that scale. (Google said to put the actual writing score and that is in there from an older ACT writing scoring scale).
Sure, he can email, although honestly I don’t think it would hurt a lot if he doesn’t. I bet this is a pretty common mistake and I don’t think there is any fear that he was trying to falsely inflate his score to a score that doesn’t even exist!
I agree with you. I think it might be a common mistake. He doesn’t need to worry too much.
