Hi guys, my ACT composite was 35, but my essay was only a 5/12 
Is this bad? Do unis care a lot about essay?
5/12? That must’ve been before the Sept 2015 test because the essay is now scored on a 1-36 scale.

It depends on the school, some do not require the writing.
Check with the colleges on your list.
A 35 is obviously excellent, so if you do not need a writing score you should be ok.
