funny the val and sal at my school have low low scores, as does everyone else.
sal got a 1590/2400 and a 10 something out of 1600
val got a little higher.
4th in class got a 1480/2400

i had a 190 on my junior psat (which was much higher than anyone elses - sad.) so im expecting a little higher on my sat.....
right now the highest score in my grade is a 1780. (i only took my reasoning in june everyone else took it in may. 790 in chem was worth it.)

Our high school only has 120 students total. This years val got a 23. And somehow she got into UW Madison. In my class, I'm tops with a 33 (I think I got higher on the June one though), there's also a 30, a couple of 29s. I'd never heard of anyone getting above a 30 in our school before this year, which is actually very sad.

At my school, all the valedictorians had like 33s or 34s. One of the salutatorians scored a 35 and I think that was the highest score in their class.

I know lots of juniors with mid-30's. Hell, one of my friends took the ACT in eighth grade and got a 26. It all depends, I guess.

I just think that you guys/gals who come on CC are just fricken plain smart.

Most of my friends are only wanting/expecting 20-26s. Not 30s. The 30s are for the geniuses/one's who study like crazy. Well, not really, since my friend studies like everyday for a month and doesn't really do so swell.

I got a 25, and I'm quite happy with that because most of my colleges will accept 25s. I could probably pull off a 30, if they just gave us like 5 more minutes on each section. I finish all the sections in time, but I realize I made careless mistakes.=/ But I mean, I can still get into good colleges with that and that I'm in the top 12 of my class.

Maybe you're right, NLT. Most of my friends got 30's on their first tries. I'll be disappointed if I don't get above a 30 this time, too. Mostly because I want to get into some really competitive schools.

Good luck highopes.
You'll probably get above a 30 if you did try to go over what you did wrong and stuff. A lot of people do better on their second time

It really depends on your school, I think. I moved from Arizona, and my school there (Hamilton) had some prettttty hefty scores on both tests. Now I live in Florida, and the scores SUCK. A guy in my APUS history class got a 21, and people saw that as good. I got a 1980 on my SAT's on the first try, which was basically viewed as unheard of.

so our class is pretty much loaded. we had 2 35's, 1 34 (me), 10 33's, and like 25 more people with 31-32. we also had like 50 people with 30 (no exaggeration). I definitely think ACT is easier than SAT, cuz i got 34 and 2150 (june results pending for SAT). since ACT is supposedly curriculum based, its way easier to study for.

My school's average SAT score is 1280 (out of 2400, NOT 1600) and average ACT is 19. Each class graduates 600+ students. I think the highest SAT score among those who just graduated was 1360 on the old scale.

I go to a magnet school within the larger high school. The magnet scores much better (but still not great), with SATs averaging maybe 1700 and ACTs around 24.

The previous magnet school SAT record was 1380 out of 1600 (i think) and a 28 ACT. One of my friends and I have easily broken each of those this year.

I guess my school's pretty average. Anything 28+ is considered really good. The last time I talked about it to our val he had a 34, but that was from his sophomore year lol.

I got a 33 in April, and when I tell people I'm retaking it to try for a higher score they think I'm insane haha. They've clearly never been on CC :P

I remember that thread with the person getting a 34 and wanting to retake for a 36... =D
I go to a kinda competitive school. I hate it when people say they don't study and get 33+s :-(
