I took the ACT yesterday (September 8th) with writing. This is the first ACT I have taken with writing. I was going to apply early action at UGA today, but it says they have to have the scores with writing section before October 15th. On the ACT website it takes scores 3-8 weeks before you get them. If I don't get my scores to send in time, will I just be put in the regular decision applications? Please help

I also just took the Sept 8 ACT test, and from what I’ve heard the scores usually come in the 3 weeks. My friend received his around the same time period that it would take an SAT, so I think you should be fine to send scores before your UGA deadline. (Scores should be out Sept. 24)

However, if by some chance that your scores are delayed to 5-8 weeks, well that depends on UGA.

I know UC policy is that they will take scores 1 month after the app deadline, so check on that with UGA. If you must, you can usually send your score reports directly to the score reporting center of UGA, however that is highly not recommended because you are making them do extra work.

Basically, pray that your scores come in 3 weeks - as they should.

Do not pay attention to that three to eight weeks; it will only take long if they have to be mailed or there is a problem with your test or test center that puts a hold on releasing acores. Absent that, you will have your scores within a couple weeks , although the writing score might take a little longer. They are then “sent” to UGA by placing the test scores in a secured on-line account that UGA has with ACT. That constitutes delivery. UGA then, on its own schedule (most colleges usually at least weekly) will go into that account and download the scores and then match them to your file. It is that last step that actually takes the longest and your on-line file with UGA may or may not show receipt by Oct 15 but it will in fact have the scores and probably by no later than the first week of Oct.
