Hi, I have a question about how colleges view the ACTs. I am not that familiar with them, and I took my first one today. I think I did well on the English on Math (33+ for both), but I am not that confident with my reading and science (bad pacing=had to guess on 3-4 from each section). When applying, I understand that colleges look at the composite score, but will they take a look at the specific subject scores as well (english, math ect. individually in comparison to writing, math ect. on SATs)? For example, if I want to apply to a good engineering/science school such as RPI or Carnegie Mellon, will they take a high math score into consideration even if my composite was lowered by the other subjects? What is more influential, subjects or composite? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I am not that knowledgable on this and want to know where I stand in the application process. Thank you for your help.
