Geez are they rigorous...lol I'm so used to the section lengths of the SAT that these ACT lengths seem so long. Any tips? I did the practice booklet and got a bunch wrong on the science section and didn't have time to finish (I didn't read the paragraphs, but went relatively slow). Anyone have tips in general? I'm shooting for a 32 - taking it in December and my first time taking it.

What helped me with time management was dividing it up. I told myself that I would only allow a certain number of minutes per passage on each section before I would move on. At the end, after working through all the passages, I would come back to the harder passages. That helped me with my science time, may not suit your working style though.

Scurf what did you score on it? And whats a good study plan for the December ACT (~3 weeks)...I just got "The Real ACT" book...so only 3 tests. Should I do a full 1 in a sitting the saturday b4 and then breakup the sections for the other 2 and do the sections times during the week?

Someone Give Advice Please :) I Know You All Took It And Scored High! Come Out From Hiding

Just don't think about it. ACT is based more on what you have been exposed to than the SAT is. If you attend even a fairly average school just don't stress and you will be fine. I went in relaxed and got a 35. :)

Well, I preped for it during my fall break, so for about 4 full days. I pulled a 31, math pulled me down. I personally liked the kaplan ACT prep book, but I used the "real ACT" as well. Since you are famaliar with SAT, my best advice is to get used to the ACT system. Also, you are probably fine with most of the content, but there are little tips and tricks that can eaisily boost your score. My advice is to look over a strategy book and take a few practice tests. Don't over-extend yourself. You shouldn't stress too much if this is your first time. The first test, IMO, should be used as a basic guage anyway. Give it your best shot, I'm sure you'll do well. :)

Heh its the 1st and last time I'll be taking it since I'm a senior and just trying to score high because my SAT's are relatively low. I have 3 weeks to prep - I borrowed the Kaplan book from my school's library and bought the 3 real ACT's
