ACT Struggle

I took the ACT last month and i got a 24 (calm down i know i didn't do that well)
Here are my sub scores
English 27
Math 22
reading 29
Science 19 (i sucked in science)

To be honest by the time i reached science i just didn't care. My neck was killing me. Lack of sleep finally reached me.
I'm trying to start a schedule on what i should study each day. I have 2 months before my exam and i want at least a 28-30. I'm thinking of studying every subject each day by doing a passage from each and timing myself. What are your thoughts and how did you study.

Please any tips on what type of schedule i can make or what book i should to help me study for it. I'm thinking of buying either baron's 36 or pr 1296. Which one would you recommend. I already have cracking the ACT. I'm going to get the red book.
I'm pretty good in english and reading but any tips will be greatly appreciated. Math I can improve on but science is just too much for me.
THANKS

come on people 15 view and no response. That’s just sad.

Buy books will not help you, unless you work through them, and understand why you got wrong and learn from your mistakes.

With 27 and 29 in English and Reading, you could improve to 35~36, if you try, since you have most of the basics. So do one mock test a day under the same exam conditions (any of the books will do), and score yourself. Make sure that you study the ones you got wrong.

It is too late to learn any new science, but common sense and a good reading comprehension should take you to 28~30. baron’s 36 has a good explanation of the exam question structure. Once again, you can do one test a day. The more you do, the better you will get.

Math at 22, you can improve easily in everything, just pick one section at a time, try to learn the basics.

Thanks for the advice.

So what your saying is to focus on one subject a day?

Barron’s books are usually seen to offer questions that are too difficult, and not related to actual test material. My suggestion is to get the Read ACT Prep Guide and to work through those questions.

Try taking tests in one sitting under real time constraints, so your body gets used to taking the test. Also, work on figuring out why you answer questions wrong, because – more than likely – a similar question will show up on a subsequent tests.

I just want to point out that one common belief is that the Science section is actually science related, when it is actually about understanding how to look up data and summarize research findings. You can definitely improve your score from 19 if you want to.

My suggestion is to spend some time each day working on what you feel are your weak points. If you struggle with geometry, work on geometry. If you have trouble understanding graphs, focus on that. And then find a time during the weekend to apply your new knowledge to a practice test.

If you are still having trouble, you may want to consult a tutor or somebody with ACT experience to give you some more advice.

Hope this helps!
