ACT Submitted Score to Colleges

Who here has sent their ACT scores instead of their SAT scores and got into a good college?

I know a girl who was accepted to Stanford (class of 2017) who never took PSAT or SAT at all. Since she did poorly on practice tests for those, she focused on ACT. Submitted her 31 score and was accepted. BUT she is very accomplished in the arts, and I think that’s what got her in.

My D was accepted to Johns Hopkins (regular decision) with only her ACT score of 31 (and she also submitted subject tests, I think).

No plan to take SAT unless S makes NMSF. So ACT is sufficient. All schools take either ACT or SAT. take the one you are better at. Besides, you don’t need to take SAT2 if submit ACT.

I have one friend who got into MIT with a 36, never took the SAT and another who got into Harvard with a 32, took the SAT but didn’t do as good so he didn’t submit it. I think colleges are pretty honest when they say they don’t care which test you submit.

Why would one ask a question like this these days? There are now even more student taking ACT than SAT since last year.
