ACT Tips for a sophomore-Just a ?

This is my brothers account I dont have an email*

Since I am a current sophomore and have been browsing the site, I have become very interested in ways to score high on the ACT. If I were to start preparing now in order to score a 32 or 33+, what would you reccomend I do? I am naturally reading and writing oriented and when I took the PSAT last year, I "scored higher than" 75% of sophomores on Critical Reading and 75% on writing. I had a bad math score though and only scored higher than about 39%. Isn't math the easiest thing to improve? Algebra was hard for me, but geometry is very easy if that helps. Thank you!

I will cross post this on the SAT thread
I will be taking the PLAN test later this month as well...
My ultimate goal would be to get a 33+ and I think if I start preparing now I can do it! Thanks again

My recommendation is to take it as many times as you possibly can/afford. Why? Real practice.

Get yourself one of the books, preferably through the ACT website itself. This will let you prepare for the ACT.

As for the math portion, they give you a low down on what it is that you need to know. The book will tell you exactly what to expect and it'll help you prepare in terms of equations.

Practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. Keep practicing. I wish I had gotten a head start as you did.

There's one coming up in October, I recommend signing up for it; there aren't any in November, but you'll find them in the following months.

Hmm, or you could just take my strategy and wing it on test day.

-See if there is a practice one (it's called the PLAN) being offered at your school
-Consider signing up for an ACT in the Spring
-Get the 07-08 Practice Test at your Guidance Center, complete it (all at once!) & grade yourself. This will give yourself a good idea of where you currently are.
-Get Peterson's "The Real ACT Prep Guide" (Review sucks, but 3 real tests) ISBN 978-0-7689-1975-2
-If you really want to achieve those scores, hire a private tutor. It may be expensive, but it WILL help you immensely.

I don't know which book is best for actual prep (the Real ACT book is not, other than the fact that it has real tests)...
