My SAT scores landed me at about 80th percentile, but I just took an ACT practice test out of the Real ACT Prep Guide book, and scored 97th percentile. Is it unusual for this high of a jump to occur between tests, or is the ACT just easier to do well on?

Not unusual in the slightest. A lot of people who do poorly on the SAT do marvelously on the ACT. The same could be said about the opposite. A lot of people suck at the ACT, but do well on the SAT. It’s the difference between achievement in school and sheer critical thinking.

Wow, well that’s good to hear. The only difference is that I took the practice untimed, but I’m assuming with a little practice I can keep my scores consistent under timed conditions.

Hm yeah. work on timing, the ACT is a lot stricter with time than is the SAT.
