Ok guys, so I just wanted some advice. Ummm, I got a 34 on the ACT and a 1430 on the SAT (710 Math and 720 Verbal) and I submitted both to Notre Dame. I think I'm going to apply early action, and I'm just wondering if I hurt my chances by submitting my SAT score because it's quite a bit lower than my ACT score. Will they just look at my ACT score because it is the highest or not? By the way, do you think the October 14th SAT scores will make it to Notre Dame in time for the November 1st early action deadline?

They will take the higher of the two, which will be the ACT (but your SAT is just fine for EA, as well). If you really feel compelled you could take the Oct. SAT and they will get it in time, I believe. Call and ask your area rep at ND Admissions if you should retake.

I second what Docmom said, they will look at the higher (which I believe is the 34) so I wouldn't worry. Either way, they both are good scores and much much better than what I had :) lol. Good luck!

Don't bother taking either test again, 34 is aprx. 1520 on the old scale. If you really want to take another standardized test then go with SAT II's. They don't hold that much weight at ND but could put you over the bar.

If your GPA/class rank puts you in the top 5-10% of your class then you have a great shot at ND EA. This year the report was something like avg ACT 32/SAT 1420 and top 2-3% in the class.
