ACT vs. SAT

Is it okay to just send one of these scores. For instance i keep getting a 33-34 on ACT diagnostics but on my latest SAT i got a 2050. My ACT score is obviously better than my SAT score and it is what i want to send to colleges but im not sure if it will be a detriment to my application.

I don't really get your question...are u trying to send your ACT score and NOT send SAT? I mean if you took any SAT IIs you'll have to send your whole history of SATs. But ACT you can pick which specific test to send. Also most college don't have a preference for anyone of over the other, nor do they require/recommend taking both, just send your ACT if its higher while your SAT will be sent anyways with or other SAT scores. Hope that answered your question.

^Technically you can pick and choose which score to send, but in the common app it asks for the scores of every single standardized test. So you should report SAT, SAT II, and ACT if you have them.

But in reality colleges don't usually check up if you didn't report everything, so you can report either or ACT as long as you don't need neither the SAT I nor the SAT II.

^not necessarily true. The voluntary score report depends on which college you are applying to. Check with them first

Oh, thanks for the catch. I thought that you were required to report all scores on the common app. Because it asks for every test and score that you took and then asks you to sign at the end. Maybe its different if you use the college's app.
