ACT vs SAT?

I'm a junior and I took the ACT, getting a 33 without studying. I'm definitely taking it again, but I've also signed up to take the SAT, which I'm questioning. I took 2 practice ACT's before my first real test, but I've never even seen the SAT. Do I really need to take the SAT? I'm in the middle of Kansas, so ACT is much more common than the SAT, but I'm looking into Ivy League and other east coast schools, so will it hurt me to submit ACT and not SAT? Which one is harder in your opinion? I heard you can't study for the SAT like the ACT, which makes me think it might be harder, but again, I have little knowledge of the SAT. Any thoughts?

i just went ahead and took both. certain ppl do better on the sat, others the act. its just depends on the person.

I think the SAT is harder most of the time, except this time around it was really easy. I did really well on the ACT (even though I sucked at PLAN), so I’m hoping colleges weight them equally. It’s an ongoing debate on this forum whether or not colleges really do give them equal weight.

Submitting the ACT only will not hurt your application. All school accept either test.
