Has anyone used the ACT Pacing Digital Timer and Watch on the actual ACT? I’m afraid that the proctors won’t let me use it or will question me about it, and it’s about 50$…
Keep it on your wrist. Then they won’t question it. As long as the watch doesn’t calculate or make noise, it’s allowed.
You’re not allowed to keep a watch on the table while you test. That will definitely draw attention.
For those that own it, just keep it on your wrist. For those who don’t own it, purchase a cheap analog watch (the one with hands). When the test begins, turn the hands to 12 o’clock, and that works just like a stopwatch with no fears of test-killing beeps!
I own the ACT pacing digital timer and I was allowed to use it twice on the ACT, no questions asked.
@midtntutor I have one and did that on the practice tests, but the “ticking” is too distracting for me lol xD
It seems like a waste of $50 to me. A cheap digital watch with a stopwatch (chronograph) serves the same purpose. It’s not like you have time to keep looking at your timer throughout the test anyway. On the ACT, you’re usually trying to going as fast as you can, and using the watch just to “check in” and make sure that you are keeping the correct pace.
That being said, you might as well try to use it if you already bought it…and I agree that keeping it on your wrist is your best bet.
