are stopwatches allowed?

no electronics but you can have a watch. I don’t recommend it. Focus on your test not the watch, it will prob be distracting.

I would disagree. You need to keep track of how much time you have remaining. Yes, it can be distracting if you’re looking at it every 30 seconds, but it also can help you avoid running out of time.

^ agree…

I used a watch stopwatch on both the SATs and ACT… Found it helpful

I use one too; I’d be lost without it.

so do you guys set the time beforehand or what? a stopwatch would help me immensely.

I would just use a watch. If I remember correctly, they prohibit stopwatches, but watches are fine.

No, just start the stopwatch at the beginning of each test. For example, on reading you have 8:45 per passage. Therefore, you should be on the second passage at 8:45, third at 17:30, and last at 26:15.

Use a watch that has a stopwatch.

Make sure it does not beep loudly when you press buttons.

Using a watch is very useful to pace your test. I have used this one:
[Silent Digital Timer/Watch for Standardized Tests](http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180634600301&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT)

I never used one…it’s a personal choice.
