ACT with writing or without?

Right, I am slightly befuddled whether to take the ACT Plus or not. What is the advantage? Is taking the extra writing section worth it? Plus, how important is taking the ACT?

Er, I took the SAT and got very nice scores, and am taking the SAT II in Dec. Should I consider taking the ACT in Oct?

Taking the ACT Plus is a good idea because a lot of colleges are requesting the writing section for their application. If you're not sure if you should take it or not, check out the websites of the colleges you are applying to and they should specifiy (also as a side note, many colleges are not using the writing as a factor for admissions but still require it for stats). The writing section is worth it imho. It's not that much more in terms of cost and it's only an extra half hour in time.

This website has a search feature where you can look up specific schools to see if it's required or not (and when that decision degins).

Also, in order to get italics exchange the < > for [ ].
