I took the ACT recently without the writing portion. This was stupid, I now realize that some of the schools that I opted to send my scores to REQUIRE the writing portion. Anyways, I was planning on taking it again in june no matter what(with writing this time). Should I cancel my score reports to those schools?

If you think that you did well and will receive a good composite score, I would say that you should let them send the scores. Whether or not the school will consider a composite from the ACT without writing differs from school to school. Some schools (such as Stanford) will take your highest composite and then look at your highest English/Writing combined score separately, even if they’re from different test dates.

I don’t think they will penalize you for sending the scores for the ACT w/o writing. If they don’t want it, they will probably just ignore it. In the long run, it might end up saving you money, since you might end up sending the scores from that test date anyway.
